Daryl Hodges is a founder of Ancient Strains, and has completed strategic reviews, advised, and or invested in over 50 cannabis opportunities since 2013. Daryl has a Master’s Degree in Earth Science, and practiced Applied Earth Science in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa from 1977 through 1996. From 1996 to 2013, he financed billions of dollars in development projects worldwide at HSBC and as Head of Investment Banking and later as CEO and Chairman at Jennings Capital Inc.
Daryl’s efforts and focus on the international opportunities helped drive Jennings Capital from a three man operation based out of Toronto, Canada to the position of 7th largest independent investment dealer in Canada within 8 years. This depth of experience is critical for the rapidly expanding international cannabis industry and will help drive the firm to international success.
Samir is a agriculture finance professional with entrepreneurial international experience in operating companies, deal execution, raising capital, and building relationships in the medical marijuana/agriculture sectors.
Recently Mr. Biswas was CFO for MedCann Access (Canadian Medical Marijuana Licensed Producer Applicant) where he operated, raised capital and marketed the Company globally. MedCann was sold to Canopy Growth in 2015. Samir has experience with the MMAR/MMPR/ACMPR Health Canada regulations for patients & Companies.
Mr. Biswas has worked closely with Kevin Furet, the previous Master Grower for Canopy Growth and Founder of Indoor Garden Solutions. He has served as Vice President, CFO, Strategic Advisor, Deputy to CEO, Treasurer and General Manager to 12 private/public Canadian Companies. Samir set up and ran operations for Forbes and Manhattan (Stan Bharti) in India. He holds a MBA in Agriculture and B. Com in Finance.
As Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Zomedica’s Canadian-based parent company, Shameze Rampertab, CPA, CA, is focused on strengthening the company’s capital structure via the development and implementation of financial strategies to ensure continued growth and viability in the evolving animal health market.
Based in Canada, his ongoing responsibilities include financial reporting and guidance, treasury and foreign exchange management, tax planning, fundraising and investor relations. A seasoned financial leader in the healthcare sector with 20 years of experience, Shameze is a master of capital markets, strategic planning and financial analysis.
Over the course of his distinctive and accomplished career, he successfully served as chief financial officer for multiple publicly traded healthcare startups, worked as an investment banker, and raised over $480 million of private and public capital. He received his chartered professional accountant (CPA) and chartered accountant (CA) designations from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants after earning his MBA from McMaster University and Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics and molecular biology from the University of Toronto.
